Biomatic President Invited to Speak
at Barnett International
Validation & Qualification Conference
Franklin, MA (February 2005) -- Biomatic President Joseph Tehrani, Ph.D., will be a featured speaker at Barnett International’s 7th Annual Lab Equipment Validation & Qualification Conference March 7-8, 2005 in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Tehrani will discuss the appropriate level of validation and qualification necessary for laboratory equipment. “When performing validation/qualification on state-of-the-art multi-component instruments, it is essential to define the necessary tests that can challenge the performance of each component, as well as the instrument as a whole, thoroughly and quickly.”
In this presentation at 11 am on Tuesday, March 8, Dr. Tehrani will describe validation and qualification requirements for LC-MS, GC-MS, and multi-tip Automated Liquid Handling Systems. His lecture is presented as part of the “Preparing for FDA Inspections” portion of the conference.
Dr. Tehrani is president & CEO of Biomatic Inc., a high technology consulting and compliance-related company. Since the inception of the company in 1998, Biomatic has been involved in, IQ, OQ, PQ instrument validation and service and repair.
Dr. Tehrani has been involved with laboratory instrument design, testing, and qualification for 24 years. His accomplishments include development of HPLC, liquid handling systems, and Microbore LC (six patents); capillary electrophoresis, CZE (one patent); and SFE/SFC systems (ten patents).
He has been involved with the design and implementation of HTS robotic systems as well as IQ, OQ, PQ validation of a range of state-of-the art laboratory instruments, including LC-MS, GC-MS, CE, Automated Liquid Handling Systems, Plate Readers / Washers, and other equipment for Fortune 500 biopharmaceutical and biotech companies.
Barnett International’s Validation & Qualification conference will be held at the Park Hyatt in Philadelphia. Other conference presenters include representatives of Amgen, Pfizer Global Manufacturing, and Berlex Laboratories.
